Modern Technology
IntraOral Cameras and Scanners
As your dentist, it’s our job to assess the condition of your mouth and identify potential problems as early as possible. This is why we use the most cutting-edge dental technology to capture images of your mouth.
The CEREC intraoral camera surpasses other types of dental cameras with its accurate, speed, and precision. Its innovative Smart Pixel Sensor processes more than 1,000,000 3D points per second, producing photorealistic and highly accurate data about the inside of your mouth. This is especially important to identify dental problems not visible to the naked eye.
Our team at Sycamore Dental utilizes the CEREC intraoral scanner to take fast, easy digital impressions of a single tooth, the entire jaw, and anything in between. These high precision scans capture the smallest nuances of every single tooth and gum surface, allowing for the creation of highly detailed crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and more.
Best of all for our patients, you don’t need to endure messy, uncomfortable molds and trays. The CEREC intraoral scanner completes a full jaw impression, including model calculations, in just two or three minutes. Whether you find yourself needing same day dental crowns or gum disease treatment, we have the advanced imaging technology capable of delivering optimal results.
Digital Sensors
At Sycamore Dental, it is our goal to provide superior, accurate diagnoses for every patient. Advanced technologies like the Schick digital x-ray intraoral sensors make it possible for our team to do this by obtaining x-ray images using minimal exposure.
These digital sensors provide industry-leading resolution for crisp, detailed images that provide incredible clarity and sharpness. We use these images to closely examine and assess the health of your mouth and oral structures. Whether it’s gum disease, cavities, or jaw bone degradation, the Schick sensors can help our team identify the problem and plan a successful treatment protocol.
Sycamore Dental also uses the DIAGNOdent, a cavity detection pen that identifies the exact points of decay in the mouth.
Even when other dentists might assume your tooth is healthy because the outer surface is intact, we use the DIAGNOdent’s laser fluorescence detection to uncover potential decay in the pit and fissure areas of the tooth. By using this advanced detection tool, our team is able to provide easy, simple, painless diagnosis of cavities to ensure early detection and effective treatment.
CBCT 3D ImaginG
Our advanced cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) 3D Sinus Scanning technology helps our team diagnose, treat, and monitor oral conditions with superior image quality and low radiation doses. This medical imaging technique uses x-rays that form a cone to achieve 3D images of the mouth, jaw, sinuses, and more.
We use 3D imaging to address a wide range of oral conditions and challenges, including:
- Abscessed Teeth
- Periodontal Disease
- Sinus Diagnostics
- Impacted teeth
- Cleft Palate and Malformation of the Jaw
- Diagnosis and therapy of temporomandibular joint dysfunctions (TMD)
- Sleep Apnea Airway Analysis
- Implant Placement Planning
- Endodontic Therapy Planning
In just one scan that lasts 90 seconds, this advanced device gathers the images and data we need to make informed diagnoses and confident treatment plans from start to finish. Whether you have chronic sinus infections or bone loss in the jaw, the team at Sycamore Dental can use a 3D scan to ensure you receive the best and most efficient oral care possible.
GBT AIRFLOW® SYSTEM
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) represents a pioneering advancement in dental technology that has revolutionized oral hygiene practices. Unlike traditional scaling methods, GBT Airflow employs a combination of air, warm water, and fine powder particles to gently remove dental plaque and biofilm from teeth and gums. This innovative approach not only enhances the efficiency of your dental cleaning but also significantly reduces discomfort and potential damage to tooth enamel compared to traditional scraping techniques.
GBT offers numerous benefits for our patients. Firstly, it provides a thorough cleaning experience that reaches areas typically missed by manual scaling, thereby reducing the risk of gum disease and cavities. Secondly, the procedure is faster and more comfortable, making it particularly suitable for individuals with sensitive teeth or those prone to dental anxiety. Moreover, GBT promotes better overall oral health by leaving teeth smoother and cleaner, which can contribute to a brighter smile and fresher breath. By embracing GBT, we at Sycamore Dental are embracing a technology-driven approach that prioritizes patient comfort, effectiveness, and long-term oral health outcomes.
When you visit our office for your dental cleaning, we offer the latest technology that will allow for a smooth experience. Our GBT (Guided Biofilm Therapy) AIRFLOW® system is a pain free, spa-like dental cleaning with biofilm removal therapy. This system reduces the need to use traditional electric or hand instruments during teeth cleaning treatments and is the first to offer warm water to eliminate any sensitivity. This innovative technology is a great service not only for our adult patients but also for our younger generations. It is an especially great option for patients that undergo orthodontic treatment. After having a cleaning with the Airflow system you will never want a cleaning any other way.

Our FAQ
-
Are there risks with using Solea?
Solea is FDA-cleared as a CO2 9.3 micron dental laser—the first of its kind on the market. There are actually fewer risks in using a dental laser like Solea in comparison to traditional dental treatments. There is less potential chance of bacterial infection because laser treatments are so precise, and there is often far less bleeding during surgical procedures.
-
Can Solea be used on children?
Yes! Solea can be used on children and infants. Treatments like frenectomy procedures, which can be invasive and usually require general anesthesia, can be done quickly, comfortably, and without anesthesia thanks to Solea.
-
Do I need anesthesia with Solea?
With our dental laser, Solea, 95% of routine procedures are done without anesthesia. This means less anxiety, less discomfort, and no more “fat lip.”
